Is it possible to have different permissions for different asset subtypes/definitions of an asset type?
E.g.
- Media_C asset type has subttypes Image and Video.
- users with role ImageEditor can edit assets of subtype Image but not of subtype Video.
- users with role VideoEditor can edit assets of subtype Video but not of subtype Image.
It's not possible to configure different roles for different subtypes (or even for different asset types).
However, it is possible to create Start Menu items for different subtypes, and specify which roles have access to those Start Menu items (and thus also which roles can create each subtype).
You can then assign different workflows to each Start Menu item, and specify the desired permissions for each workflow. This is more flexible, as you can allow/deny rights based on the workflow status the asset is in, rather than have the same permissions for the entire life of the asset.
